Zūn Shàn Jì Miǎo
Comply with Kindness (Shan) [here] as well as [when] far away.

Bì Yán Tŏu Wéi
By Stopping Up (Bi) and Protracting (Yan),
one can then go join the Lofty (Wei).

Liáng Zī Yìn Zhòu
Very much the Now (Zi) conforms to Time
with its Past, Present, and Future unbroken.

Yù Wēi Huà Shēn
The handsome Jade (Yu), though [at first] tiny,
transforms and stretches.

Hào Sù Gé Luè
In the clear summer Sky, vast and plain,
the pattern is sketched out.

Lì Yuān Kāi Rén
Do good and out of the Deep Abyss (Yuan) is lifted Benevolence.

Zhǎng Jǐ Yuán Shì
Holding in the hand the age-old records,
there is motive [enough] to explain them.

Còu Zhì Yuǎn Jīng
[Go] to gather wisdom [and confidence] at the distant capital.

Bào Yuè Lú Xiá
[There] to Hug the Moon [amidst the] Green Red-tinged clouds.

Yŏng Cǐ Zhì Yīn
And to compose and recite these most [timely] tidings.

Bĕi Fāng Bā Tiān
The Northern Eight Heavens.
